I wanted a way to build and host some vibecoded apps/dashboards etc , but figured there was no good way outside using things like lovable and replit , where the code and data and the hosting lives on their servers Many of the online app builders don't allow you to switch the model to an open model and charge premiums for tokens, Some of the app builders even want you to paste DB credentials in the chat which to me was a complete no no I have been working on an alternative to this model , where y

just curious if anyone knows or has a link to studies regarding comments in codebases and agentic dev. I recently went through and chopped 50%+ of the comments the model had left on initial build and I'm wondering if this improves parsing (obviously it will improve token usage) and reasoning -- hopefully not the inverse? anyone has looked into this? Electric Sheep is a news (RSS) reader that contains no tracking, no ads, and no algorithms. It shows posts from feeds that you follow in reverse chronological order. I made it to meet my own needs but wonder if anyone else has similar requirements as me. I spent a lot of time on the layout, colours and fonts to make it highly readable. There's simple Today, This Week and Latest groupings. Latest shows the newest post from each feed that you follow, which is helpful if some feeds become too noisy
Oak is a version control system I've been working on designed for agents ( https://oak.space ). It improves the speed and context your agents need when working on serious projects. With virtual mounts, agents locally and in the cloud no longer need a full copy of a repo to get working. You can work on many tasks in parallel without needing to download everything or fight worktrees. Version control shouldn't waste you or your agents time. It should be fast, creative and fun to make things with ag

Quake has been ported to the web plenty of times, so that part isn't new. But I experimented with the GitHub Copilot app and Claude Opus 4.8 to take id Software's original source, compiled the software renderer to WebAssembly with Emscripten. The cool part: I added support for procedurally generated levels. So after you clear a level, the slipgate opens and you move onto the next random one... with a new room layout, textures, monster placement, working doors with keys, etc. It's pretty challeng

Presented by Splunk Every day, organizations learn things their AI systems never get to use. A security analyst corrects an AI-generated investigation. A network engineer identifies the root cause of a recurring outage. An observability team discovers that a pattern of latency, logs and infrastructure changes predicts service degradation. A customer operations team learns which signals indicate an escalation is likely. Each moment contains valuable organizational knowledge. But in most enterpris

Not every company can or should build their own frontier AI language model. However, the harness controlling the model is something that most enterprises can and should customize for their specific purposes. Of course, this is easier said than done. A gent harnesses are still largely tuned through manual, ad hoc debugging — a process that relies heavily on intuition rather than systematic feedback loops, making it difficult to keep pace with rapidly evolving LLMs. To solve this challenge, resear

Feels to me like local models are an under-covered aspect of this whole AI boom. If everything improves over time, at some point a good chunk of tasks won’t need to be done in data centers or be subject to the whims of a few frontier AI labs. How close are we to that? Or is my thinking flawed? Comments URL: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=48630423 Points: 4 # Comments: 4

Companies are investing in AI agents and cutting staff, but talented professionals will find new opportunities.
Agentic AI is not failing because the technology is bad. It is failing because of five specific misconceptions that teams carry into their first deployments and each one is correctable.

Novu handles credentials, identity, and delivery, keeping OAuth and tokens outside your app and mapping each channel to one user. Your agent always knows who they're talking to. Your agent can also send proactive notifications and handle the replies in the same loop, on whichever channel the customer used. One CLI command connects a real chan
