I've noticed a pattern where the people who are talking about how impressive their agentic workflows are, always seem to use these workflows to build more AI tooling. Has anyone seen a project built by an agentic workflow that could stand on its own? Comments URL: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=48528665 Points: 3 # Comments: 9
I thought it was a shame that the expect() fluent interface in Jest and Vitest is unable to make use of a TypeScript feature called assertion signatures. Assertion signatures seem like a natural fit for test assertions, because they let you align real run-time validation with compile-time type information. I wanted to be able to do both of those things in one go in tests, so I put together this small library of test assertion functions and composable matcher functions with assertion signatures.
Recently I've been hearing about the Permanent Underclass, In my words it is the idea that those who don't build wealth before AI is capable enough to replace them, will be put in a position to be forever poor unable to find work. Heres how Guillermo Flor put it 'Today, it has become repopularized as a viral term for a theory that posits that people have a limited window of time to build wealth before A.I. and robotics are advanced enough to fully replace human labor.' What are you all thinking,
I work on early stage spacecraft concepts, so I draft and edit spacecraft block diagrams often. Each and every time I'm frustrated by the "fiddliness" of tools like Powerpoint or Visio - lines overlap when I don't want them to, or don't when I do. I fight invisible grids when sizing and placing boxes. Legend entries end up ever-so-slightly misaligned. So I made my own little single-purpose tool. Satblocks is the distillation of my own opinionated set of spacecraft block diagram requirements and

Hi, Created a tool that lets you type your idea and it can generate a 3blue1brown style video on this. The demo is free to use - https://crafty-resilient-grebe.instavm.site/ Github open sourced as well - https://github.com/instavm/manim-studio If you feel its cumbersome to set up manim locally, you can now just prompt this tool and it will create the video you need, be as descriptive as you like. Shoutout to the original Manim - https://github.com/ManimCommunity/manim Happy manim-ing! Comments U
I’m not a software engineer by trade, but I needed to make a number of screenshots for my job that all needed to be the exact same size. Every app I found wouldn't let me input or save a preset size to make my life easier, so I thought I'd try out using AI to help me build a simple app to solve that problem. It wasn't long before I started adding more and more useful features and ended up building the screenshot app I wanted to see in the world (CapSize - which now has local OCR and a ton of ann

TLDR: I had 2,207 GoPro videos, and I need to rewatch them to find interesting moments from my cycling journey. I built a project to index them locally on my M1 Max using open-source ML models, search for those moments, and send the best clips straight to my DaVinci Resolve timeline. I indexed 628 videos (668.68 GB, 15h 13m 18s of footage duration), more details in the metrics table in the last section of this article.
