I've been a software engineer for 9 years now, and I noticed a very new weirdness in my workflows. Once I finish the architecture of a project and i have my context engineering prompt ready, I hit SEND, and then is just void lol. I have realized that between that time of waiting till AI is done, my mind drifts, I go use other apps, search random stuff and if AI fucks things up I go back and forth supervising it. I feel like this whole experience has generated some kind of fatigue and comes with

Vent out. Maybe one of us will find a fix. I'm mad that economic policies in France aren't based on what models say is best next action but on elections. Democracy really sucks. I'm also very annoyed that models are censoring stuff without even clarifying what's wrong with the prompt. I don't like that content distribution is still mostly owned by a few platforms. Something is deeply odd with that. Comments URL: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=48567958 Points: 30 # Comments: 86

Neural CAs model self-organizing pattern formation. Now they can generate patterns at HD resolution in real-time, enabled by turning each CA cell into a Neural Field. Try 3 demos: grow a pattern from a seed (and damage it, it heals), synthesize PBR textures that can regenerate, or create 3D textures like clouds.
In the AI era, something funny is happening: side projects that have been collecting dust in
~/code/wishful-thinking/
are getting dusted off. Suddenly that "someday I'll write this" repo on GitHub has a real README, a working CI, and three open issues you actually want to close.

Why? Because the AI doesn't complain. Doesn't get bored. Doesn't ask "but why do we need this when we have X?" at 11pm when all you want is to feel better with yourself, when your children are on t
